Your Right to Deletion
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Article 17), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and Meta Platform Terms, you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. Quetzal takes data privacy seriously and is committed to honoring your deletion requests promptly and transparently. We provide multiple convenient ways for you to request that your personal data be removed from our systems.
What Data We Store
When you use Quetzal, we may collect and store the following categories of personal data associated with your account:
- Account information, including your name, email address, and profile details, managed through AWS Cognito
- Connected social media account tokens and platform identifiers for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and Reddit
- AI-generated content, drafts, and publishing history
- Analytics data fetched from your connected social media platforms
- Scheduling preferences and brand settings
- Technical logs, including IP address and session data, which are retained for a maximum of 90 days
How to Request Data Deletion
You may request the deletion of your personal data using any of the following methods:
Self-Service (Recommended)
Log into your Quetzal account, navigate to Account Settings, and select Delete Account. This will immediately initiate the deletion of all personal data associated with your account. This is the fastest and most convenient way to request data deletion.
Email Request
Send an email to privacy@quetztal.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." Please include your registered email address in the body of the message. We will verify your identity and process the request within 30 days of receipt.
Facebook/Instagram Users
If you connected your account to Quetzal via Facebook or Instagram, you can also initiate data deletion directly from your Facebook settings. Go to Facebook Settings, then Apps and Websites, find Quetzal, and select Remove. This action triggers our data deletion callback automatically, and your data will be processed for deletion without any additional steps on your part.
What Happens When You Request Deletion
When you submit a data deletion request, the following actions are taken:
- Account information is deleted within 30 days
- All OAuth tokens for connected social media platforms are immediately revoked and deleted
- AI-generated content, drafts, and scheduled posts are permanently deleted
- Analytics data associated with your account is deleted
- Brand settings and scheduling preferences are deleted
- Technical logs are purged within 90 days, in accordance with our standard retention policy
- Payment records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by applicable tax and financial regulations
- Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be linked to your identity may be retained
Confirmation
After the deletion process is complete, we will send a confirmation to your registered email address before it is removed from our systems. This confirmation serves as your record that your data deletion request was fulfilled. If you initiated a deletion request through Facebook, you may check the status of the request using the confirmation code provided at the time of your request.
Reactivation
Please be aware that once data deletion is complete, it cannot be undone. All personal data, content, and account settings will be permanently removed from our systems. If you wish to use Quetzal again in the future, you will need to create a new account from scratch.
